Too little free memory to start the QuadPlane code
What ArduPilot says:
- Config Error: Not enough memory for quadplane
When Q_ENABLE is set, ArduPilot creates the lift-motor mixer, the attitude and position controllers and the waypoint and loiter navigation in RAM. Before doing so it checks that enough is free for all of them plus 4 kB, and it was not. This is a “Config Error”: it repeats every 5 s and the board does nothing else.
What to do, most likely first
Other features have taken the memory: Lua scripting, terrain data, many extra drivers.
CheckThe ground station shows the free memory.
SCR_ENABLEwith a largeSCR_HEAP_SIZEis the usual big consumer.FixSwitch off what the aircraft does not use (
SCR_ENABLE,TERRAIN_ENABLE) or lowerSCR_HEAP_SIZE, and reboot. The flight controller has too little RAM for a QuadPlane.
FixUse a board with more memory (an H7 board), or a firmware built without the features you do not need.
Parameters to look at
| Parameter | What it is |
|---|---|
Q_ENABLE | Enable QuadPlane |
SCR_ENABLE | Enable Scripting |
