What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

The firmware stopped itself: it could not go on

Act nowBoard, internal errors, CAN, scripting

What ArduPilot says:

A panic is the firmware's emergency stop, for situations it cannot recover from: the parameter storage cannot be opened, a chip the board must have is not found, memory ran out during start-up. The code records the panic, then stays in a loop printing the reason every half second on the board's console, which most ground stations do not show. If the watchdog then restarts the board, the panic shows as part of the IE number in the “WDG:” line of the next start.

What to do, most likely first

  1. The firmware is for another board, or another revision of this one.

CheckThe Firmware Inspector shows the board a firmware file was built for; compare it with the name printed on your board.

FixFlash the firmware made for exactly your board.

  2. A chip on the board has failed (storage, log flash, a sensor the board cannot work without).

CheckOpen the board's USB serial port in a terminal program: the reason is printed there twice a second.

FixIf the right firmware still panics, the board is faulty.

Written here for Copter 4.6. In the tool you choose your vehicle and version, see your own parameter values beside the ones named here, and drop a flight log to have every message in it explained.
