What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

The landing could not be started again; the plane goes to RTL

WarningPlane: take-off, landing, QuadPlanePlane only

What ArduPilot says:

Plane wanted to fly the landing again (after a go-around, or because AUTO was left during the landing) and found nowhere to restart from: no climb command after the landing point, no DO_LAND_START, and no waypoint with a position before the landing point. The mission stays stopped. A plane that is in AUTO with a stopped mission switches to RTL and says “Aircraft in auto without a running mission”.

What to do, most likely first

  1. The landing point has nothing before it in the mission to fly the approach from.

    FixPlan every landing as an approach waypoint followed by the landing point, with a DO_LAND_START before them: go-arounds then have a fixed place to begin again.

  2. It happened in flight and the plane is now circling over home in RTL.

    FixLand by hand in FBWA, or set the current mission item to the approach waypoint from the ground station and select AUTO again.

The code that sends it

Unable to restart landing sequence

libraries/AP_Landing/AP_Landing.cpp AP_Landing::restart_landing_sequence() · Open in ArduPilot Plane-4.7.1

Aircraft in auto without a running mission

ArduPlane/mode_auto.cpp ModeAuto::update() · Open in ArduPilot Plane-4.7.1
