What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

A manual parachute release was refused

WarningRangefinder, optical flow, camera, OSD and other devices

What ArduPilot says:

A release asked for by a switch or by the ground station was not carried out. “Parachute: Landed”: the copter is on the ground. “Parachute: Too low”: it is below CHUTE_ALT_MIN metres above home, where the canopy would not open in time. In the log these are “ERR PARACHUTES-3” and “ERR PARACHUTES-2”.

What to do, most likely first

  1. The release switch was moved on the ground or during the landing.

FixNothing was released and nothing is wrong. Put the parachute on a switch you cannot knock by accident.

  2. CHUTE_ALT_MIN is higher than the height you fly at, so a release you need would be refused.

CheckCompare CHUTE_ALT_MIN with the height in the log when the release was asked for.

FixSet CHUTE_ALT_MIN to the lowest height at which your parachute opens fully, as its maker states, and fly above it.
