What ArduPilot says:

A DO_GRIPPER command in the mission ran: the gripper (a servo or an electromagnet that holds a payload) was told to close, “Gripper Grabbed”, or to open, “Gripper Released”. The line reports the command, not that the payload was really held or dropped. In a log it marks the moment and, with the position logged next to it, the place of the drop.
