What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

The parameters were restored from the backup copy

WarningBoard, internal errors, CAN, scripting

What ArduPilot says:

At start-up ArduPilot reads the header of its parameter storage. This time the header was not valid, but boards with enough storage keep a second copy, and that copy was good: ArduPilot wrote it over the damaged one, carried on, and recorded params_restored so that you know. Without a good copy it would have erased everything and started from defaults.

What to do, most likely first

  1. Power was removed in the middle of a write to the storage.

CheckCompare the parameters on board with your last saved file in Parameter Compare & Migrate: the restored copy can be older than your last changes.

FixSet again what is missing, wait a few seconds, reboot. The error is gone after a clean start.

  2. The storage chip is failing.

CheckIt happens again without any power cut, or together with “Param storage failed”.

FixDo not fly a board that loses its parameters. Replace it.

Written here for Copter 4.6. In the tool you choose your vehicle and version, see your own parameter values beside the ones named here, and drop a flight log to have every message in it explained.
