An upload of a mission, fence or rally points did not finish

ArduPilot asks the ground station for the items one at a time, repeating a request about every second. When no item has arrived for 8 seconds it gives up: “… upload timeout”. “Only N items are supported” means the upload is larger than the storage holds, and “Out of memory for upload” that there was no free memory to receive a fence. “Flight plan update rejected” and “Error replacing item” are a partial update that named items which do not exist.
What to do, most likely first
The telemetry link is weak or busy and items got lost.
CheckLook at the link quality on the ground station while uploading; a long mission over a slow radio takes many seconds per hundred items.
FixUpload over USB or with the aircraft close by, then read the mission back and compare.
The mission has more items than the board's storage holds.
CheckThe number in “Only N items are supported” is the limit of this board.
FixShorten the mission, or keep it on the microSD card: set
BRD_SD_MISSIONto the size in kilobytes (each waypoint takes 15 bytes) and reboot.Two ground stations, or a ground station and a companion computer, uploaded at the same time.
FixUpload from one place at a time.
After “Mission upload timeout” the mission on board is not the old one and not the new one: the items that did arrive were already written over the old ones. Upload again and read it back. A fence is different: it is replaced only when all of it has arrived.
