What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

A motor of this frame has no output

Stops itMotors, ESCs and outputs

What ArduPilot says:

Every motor of the chosen frame needs an output whose SERVOn_FUNCTION is that motor: 33 to 40 are Motor1 to Motor8, 82 to 85 are Motor9 to Motor12. The message names the first motor that no output is set to. At start-up ArduPilot gives the motors outputs 1, 2, 3 and so on by itself, but only where an output is still free (function 0); an output already used for something else is left alone and the motor goes without.

What to do, most likely first

  1. The output that motor would get by default has another function: a camera trigger, an LED, a servo.

CheckList every SERVOn_FUNCTION and look for the missing number: Motor3 is 35.

FixGive the motor the output its ESC is wired to: set that SERVOn_FUNCTION to the motor's number, move the other device elsewhere, and reboot.

  2. The frame class has more motors than outputs were set up for (a hexa or octa chosen on a quad).

CheckThe start-up line “Frame: …” says what ArduPilot built; count its motors against the aircraft.

FixCorrect the frame class, or assign the extra motors to free outputs, and reboot.

  3. The outputs were remapped in a parameter file from another board.

CheckParameter Compare & Migrate shows which SERVOn_FUNCTION values differ from your earlier file.

FixSet the functions for the outputs your ESCs really use; the Board & Wiring Planner shows which pad is which output on your board.

The motor test does not make this check: it runs with a motor unassigned, and that motor stays still.
