What an ArduPilot message means and what to do about it

Українська

The motor test started, finished or was cut short

InformationMotors, ESCs and outputs

What ArduPilot says:

“starting motor test”: the checks passed and the motor asked for is being driven. The outputs are armed for the length of the test, and the radio, ground station and EKF failsafes are suspended while it runs. “finished motor test”: the time ran out (10 minutes at most) or the throttle value was out of range; the motors are disarmed and the failsafes restored. “Motor Test: cancelled” (4.7): the motor could not be driven any longer, because the outputs were disarmed or stopped in the middle of the test.

What to do, most likely first

  1. “cancelled”, or in 4.6 a test that starts and spins nothing: a motor interlock switch (RCn_OPTION 32) is in its off position, or an emergency stop was switched on.

FixPut the switch in its run position and repeat the test with the props off.

  2. The test runs but one motor stays still.

FixCheck that motor's ESC wiring, its SERVOn_FUNCTION and the ESC protocol, as the Setup & Tuning Guide's output and motor test steps describe.
